Getting there

Flights & the drive

For our international guests, we recommend flying into Cape Town International (CPT), renting a car and enjoying the scenic 4–4.5 hour drive along the coast.

Recommended

Cape Town · CPT

Fly in, hire a car and drive the coast. Roughly 4–4.5 hours, and one of the best drives in the country.

Closest

George · GRJ

Our nearest airport. Connect from Cape Town or Johannesburg, then drive just 30 minutes to Seeplaas.

Also possible

Johannesburg · JNB

You can fly into Johannesburg and connect to George, but Cape Town is the more convenient option.

Worth knowing before you book

  • Hire a car. There is no Uber or Bolt in Great Brak River, and the venue is not walkable from any accommodation.
  • Driving times: Cape Town 4–4.5 h · George 30 min · Port Elizabeth 3.5 h · Johannesburg 11 h.
  • Last stretch: the approach to the plot may be gravel — worth knowing if you’re booking a small car. Confirm with venue
  • Visas: many nationalities get a 90-day visa on arrival, but check before you fly. Confirm wording

We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

What to wear

Dress Code

Guest wording still needed TBC

The v1 site had a “Dress Code” heading and no copy at all. The palette below is real — sampled from the couple’s own styling board. The board shows the wedding party, though, so whether guests are asked to follow it is Ian & Chavón’s call.

Their palette

  • Sage
  • Dusty blue
  • Butter
  • White

Coastal formal

A summer wedding by the sea rather than black tie. If you’d like to dress to the palette, sage, dusty blue and butter yellow are the colours of the day.

Ladies
Midi or maxi dresses, soft fabrics, a wrap for later.
Gentlemen
Linen or a lightweight suit — the groomsmen are in navy and beige. Open collar is fine.
One practical note
We’ll be on grass and dune sand, and the sea breeze picks up after sunset. Block heels or flats, and a layer for the evening.
Please avoid
White, and anything close to it. Confirm

The little ones

Kids

Our ceremony will be adults-only, but the little ones are never far away! They’ll have a small play area just behind the ceremony, with someone keeping an eye on them.

Parents are welcome to stay nearby if needed — although we think they’ll love their little play spot!

Still to confirm TBC

  • Is the minder a paid, qualified childminder?
  • Until what time is the play area supervised?
  • Will there be a children’s meal option at dinner?

This is a design mockup. The dress-code board and the coastal header are the couple’s own, recovered from the current Canva site. The map, the accommodation cards and the play area are still placeholders — no real images of those exist yet. The order of events is now a real ordered list with <time> elements, so screen readers read it correctly and it reflows on a phone — the v1 version was absolutely-positioned text.
