On the day
What time should I actually arrive?
Arrive from 15h00. The ceremony starts at 16h00, which gives you an hour to park, find a drink and greet everyone. Please don’t arrive after 15h45 — the ceremony starts on time.
Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?
Outdoors, overlooking the sea. Confirm with venue
What happens if it rains?
Seeplaas has an indoor alternative and we’ll make the call on the morning. If it changes, we’ll WhatsApp everyone who has RSVP’d. Confirm the wet-weather plan
Is there parking, and is it safe?
Yes — parking is on the property. Confirm capacity and whether it’s attended
Can I take photos during the ceremony?
We’d love you to be present with us rather than behind a screen, so we ask for phones away during the ceremony itself. After that, photograph everything. Confirm the couple’s preference
Will there be load-shedding?
The venue has backup power, so the day runs regardless. Confirm generator / inverter with venue
Food & drink
Are there vegetarian, halaal or allergy-friendly options?
Yes. Tell us on the RSVP form and the caterer will accommodate it — that’s exactly why we ask.
Is it a cash bar or an open bar?
To be decided — we’ll confirm here before the day, including whether the bar takes card or cash only.
Can we bring our own wine?

Getting there & staying over
Which airport should I fly into?
Cape Town (CPT) if you want the scenic 4–4.5 hour coastal drive, or George (GRJ) if you’d rather land 30 minutes away. You can connect via Johannesburg, but Cape Town is easier. Full travel notes.
Do I need to hire a car?
Realistically, yes. There’s no Uber or Bolt in Great Brak River and the venue isn’t walkable from any of the accommodation. If you’d rather not drive, say so on the RSVP form and we’ll try to match you with someone.
Where should I stay?
Garden Route Ilita Lodge is closest and was recommended by the venue. There’s plenty more in Tergniet and Great Brak River on LekkeSlaap and Booking.com. See the options.
How do I get back to my accommodation afterwards?
Please plan a designated driver or arrange a local shuttle in advance — there’s no e-hailing in the area late at night. Investigate a group shuttle
What’s the weather like in March?
Late summer on the Garden Route: warm days around 24–27 °C, cooler evenings, and a sea breeze after sunset. Bring a layer for the evening.
Do I need a visa for South Africa?
Many nationalities, including Dutch passport holders, get a visa on arrival for up to 90 days — but please check your own situation well before booking. Confirm wording; we shouldn’t give immigration advice

Can I bring my children?
The ceremony is adults-only, but there’s a supervised play area just behind it and parents are welcome to stay nearby. More about the arrangements.
Can I bring a plus one?
Your invitation says whether it includes one — when you RSVP, the form shows exactly who is invited in your household. If something looks wrong, tell us.
What’s the dress code?
Coastal formal — a summer wedding by the sea rather than black tie. Note that we’ll be on grass and dune sand, so block heels or flats are wise. See the detail. Wording pending approval
What about gifts?
We kindly ask for none — we’re flying home to the Netherlands afterwards. If you’d like to contribute to the honeymoon, there are details on the gifts page.

1 December 2026. One form covers everyone in your household — respond here.
