Sixteen years in the making
Our Story
Our story started long before we ever imagined it would…
We met as kids, living on the same street and spending our weekends together with our siblings. The four of us grew up side by side — filling our days with adventures, laughter, and the kind of mischief that makes for very good stories later in life. Some of those stories are probably best saved for the wedding…
Somewhere around 16, something shifted. The photos below may tell that story better than we can. What had always been an easy friendship began to feel like something more, and slowly, the story changed.
Since then, we’ve finished school together, lived through a pandemic, survived a year of long distance, and eventually found ourselves building a life on the other side of the world — now calling the Netherlands home.
There’s something rather special about growing up alongside someone, only to realise years later that the person who has been part of so many of your memories will also be part of all the ones still to come.
We’ve known each other for 16 years, loved each other for 8, and soon we will get to call each other husband and wife. We couldn’t imagine celebrating this next chapter without the people who have been part of the journey with us.
We’ve waited 8 years for this.
Let’s celebrate accordingly!

Eight photographs recovered from the current site. The childhood photos the story above promises are still needed — the last two slots are held for them.
This is a design mockup. The photographs are the couple’s own, recovered from the current Canva site — click any of them to see the lightbox behaviour.
Captions describe what is actually in each frame. The narrative talks about meeting as children on the same street, but no childhood photographs exist on the v1 site, so those two slots are left as flagged gaps rather than captioning an engagement photo with a date we’d be inventing.
Anything flagged TBC is awaiting an answer from Ian & Chavón.
